Living and breathing rowing in Southampton
Coalporters A.R.C. was founded in 1875 and is the oldest and most established rowing club within the city of Southampton. With age comes experience and importantly a sense of belonging that can help the most inexperienced rower become proficient and reach competition level.
For the experienced rowers the club is ideal, we are run by dedicated volunteers who professionally manage the clubhouse, gymnasium and boathouse facilities. The coaching volunteers have helped rowers win top level competitions all across the south coast and further afield.
Coalporters facilities, boats and access to the water are excellent with parking and easy access to public transport. The club puts on regular social events for its members and their families to enjoy throughout the year.
If you are considering taking up rowing and would like an informal chat with one of the team, please fill out the contact form below and our members officer will be back to you within 48 hours.
Membership Fees
To help maintain this great club we raise funds through membership fees, various fundraising events, crowd funding activities and sponsorship. These funds help to keep the club house, storage buildings, boats and social areas maintained and available to the community of Southampton and beyond. Coalies also relies on many volunteers who give up their free time to ensure people who have an interest in rowing have a family orientated club they can enjoy, and importantly, get time out on the water.
